Boss Engira Baskaran is Tamil romantic comedy movie produced by K.S. Sreenivasan; it is directed by M.Rajesh who also gave a successful movie Siva Manasula Shakti (SMS) earlier. The music is composed by Yuvan not so impressive. It's a full length comedy movie, Aarya, Santhanam, Nayanthara are the main characters in this movie, Jeeva did a cameo appearance.
Boss (Aarya) is a Hakuna Matata guy who has no plans in life and yet to complete his B.A Degree. He hangs around with his friend Nallathambi (Santhanam) who owns a saloon 'Thalai Thalapathi'. Boss falls in love with Chandrika (Nayanthara) at first sight, just like any Tamil movie hero falls in love. Boss brother Saravanan (Panchu Subbu) gets married with Nandhini (Viyalakshmi). Boss finds out that Chandrika is sister of Nandhini, and thought that it is going to be a piece of cake to get married to Chandrika.
Boss approaches Nandhini and think that he could get approval to get married to Chandrika, but Nandhini points out that you don’t have a job, no goal in life, how will you take care of Chandrika. Boss tries to find a job but finally ends up starting his own tutorial college business. He gets loan amount from Rajendran using Santhanam's saloon document. He struggles in the beginning to run the tutorial later he succeeds. That’s where the new problem arises for Boss, without villain there are no Tamil films, here Chandrika's father Shangmuga Sundaram (Chitra Lakshmanan), is not so much of villain but the directors twist made him look like villain. Shanmuga Sundaram doesn't want Chandrika to get married to Boss. The rest of the story twists and turns and then ends happily.
Santhanam has taken over the comedy track on his shoulders. Some of the jokes are of his same patterns but some are really funny. Especially "Nanbeanda" has become a catchy word among youth. It is good time pass movie to enjoy with family and friends and can be given a 3 star.
